The Wesleyan swim team finished up day 1 in Canton, Ohio. The Men's team would finish 9th out of 9 teams with 53 points and the Women would place 9 out of 10 teams with a score of 88.Â
Notable performers included
Breanna Waldron in the Women's 1000 Yd Free placing 24th with a lifetime best of 11:41.33.Â
Aaron Taylor would place 17th in the Men's 1000 Yd Free with a time season best time of 10:52.29.Â
In the 200-yard medley relay, the team of
Breanna Waldron (FR),
Addisyn McCann (FR), Maddie MacMillan (JR), and
Rhyan Murphy (JR) represented West Virginia Wesleyan. They finished in
10th place with a time of
2:02.57. Waldron led off with a 31.34-second backstroke leg, followed by McCann in the breaststroke, MacMillan in the butterfly, and Murphy finishing with a strong freestyle split of 25.19 seconds.
On the men's side, WVWC's team of Nick Gerosa (SR),
Owen Caynor (SO), Alex Cedillo (FR), and
Ryan Guerron (FR) finished in
8th place in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of
1:49.78. Gerosa opened with a backstroke leg of 26.11 seconds, while Caynor, Cedillo, and Guerron combined to close out the race.
