West Virginia Wesleyan College's men's and women's golf teams teed off their 2025 fall season at the
Wheeling Fall Invitational, held September 4–5 at Belmont Hills Country Club. The invitational featured a deep field of NCAA Division II programs across the region, providing a competitive start to the season for the Bobcats.
Men's Team Recap
Team Finish: 16th (+57)
Wesleyan's men's squad finished 16th in a 16-team field with a two-day total of
+57, improving their team score by 13 strokes from Round 1 (+35) to Round 2 (+22)
The Bobcats faced tough competition from tournament champion
California (PA) (+6), and strong showings from
IUP and
Bluefield State, who tied for second (+11).
Top WVWC Performers:
- Robin Heidenreich shot a two-day total of +13 (84-73), showing strong improvement in Round 2 and tying for 53rd overall
- Rahil Krishna also posted +13 (77-80), providing consistent scoring across both days
- Caleb Fairhurst closed with a +22 (83-83) total
- Other Wesleyan competitors included Gabe Jones (+24, 85-83) and Jake Geremia (+26, 86-84)
Women's Team Recap
Team Finish: 8th (+325)
The WVWC women's team placed 8th out of nine teams with a two-day total of
+325 (155-170)
Despite the placement, the tournament provided valuable early-season experience for a young Bobcat roster.
Glenville State claimed the team title at
+80, followed by
Millersville (PA) and
California (PA).
Top WVWC Performers:
- Sydney Baird led the Bobcats with a +27 (88-95), tying for 13th individually
- Mary Felts carded rounds of 102 and 108 for a total of +210, placing 47th
- Sophia Sherrell posted +182 (99-83) and Gabrianna Nixon followed closely at +173 (79-94)
- Addison Davis rounded out the team effort with a +70 (33-37) over the two days
