Alexa Johnson enters her third season as the head coach of West Virginia Wesleyan acrobatics & tumbling team for the 2021-22 season.
In her first season as head coach, Alexa Johnson led the Acro 'Cats to a 1-3 overall record in 2020. West Virginia Wesleyan defeated Georgetown College by a score of 238.86 - 140.25 in their final contest of the 2020 season.
During Johnson's tenure, the Wesleyan Acrobatics & Tumbling team placed seven student-athletes on the NCATA Academic Honor Roll for the 2020 season. Additionally, the Lady Bobcats had two student-athletes receive Mountain East Academic All-Conference Honors and seven student-athletes claim MEC Commissioner's Honor Roll accolades in 2020.
A native of Ripley, W.Va., Johnson graduated from Fairmont State in May of 2019 with a bachelor's degree in Exercise Science. She was a 4-year member of the Acrobatics & Tumbling team at Fairmont State.
Johnson first coached as a student-assistant at Fairmont State after an injury ended her senior season. While she was a student-assistant, Johnson helped lead Fairmont State to win the inaugural Mountain East Conference Acrobatics & Tumbling Championship.
