Meyers will begin his second season with the Bobcats in 2019-2020. Meyers led the 2018 Men's Cross Country team to a 4th place finish in the Mountain East Conference, and under his guidance the 2019 Men's Track team increased their points scored at the conference meet, along with an increase in all-conference athletes.Â
Meyers led the men's and women's distance squad to huge improvements during 2018-2019. Freshman Tori Carr was First-Team ALL-MEC in Cross Country, along with being Third Team All-MEC on the track side in the 3,000 meter steeplechase. Under the guidance of Meyers, the distance squad had six girls with personal bests in the 5k, two school records, and one nationals appearance on the track side. Sydney Pineault shattered two school records, and qualified for the NCAA DII national meet in the 3,000 meter steeplechase. Â
Meyers returned to Wesleyan after a two year stint as an assistant coach at Davis & Elkins College under the direction of Jason Pyles. Meyers was instrumental in the launch of the Track Program for D&E in Spring 2017. Meyers coached the sprinters, hurdlers, and jumpers for the Senators and also assisted with the cross country program that saw school record finishes in the Midwest Region.
Under the direction of Meyers the sprint and hurdle groups saw tremendous improvement over the two year stint. He coached a few all conference selections in a growing conference, and also witnessed many personal bests and conference scorers. During the 2017-2018 season, Meyers coached the Davis & Elkins Female Freshman Athlete of the year Samantha Kirk. Kirk was also third team all-conference in the GMAC in the 400 hurdles with a time that sat her top 100 in Division II. At D&E, his primary duties included practicing planning, and workout preparation for the sprint side, along with managing the lifting program. Recruitment for the sprint side was a big part of Meyers’ tenure with the Senators as well.Â
Before D&E, Meyers served two seasons at Wesleyan as an assistant coach under the legendary Jesse Skiles. One as a student-assistant after an injury, and another as an assistant working with the 400 runners in 2015-2016.
Meyers was a part of three championship years with the Bobcats, all being victories on both the men’s and women’s side. One of those was as an athlete, and two as an assistant coach.Â
Meyers graduated from Wesleyan in 2015 with a degree in Marketing and minor in communications. He recently graduated from American Public University with a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Sports Management.Â
