JOHN ZUBAL

John Zubal

John Zubal begins his sixth season as an athletic trainer at WVWC. He is the primary athletic training contact for women’s basketball, women’s and men’s golf, women’s and men’s cross country/track and field, and dance. 
 
Zubal’s professional experiences range from the NCAA Division I, II, and III levels, as well as the professional ranks. As an athletic trainer, Zubal has contributed to such team success that have included a women’s basketball National Championship, Final Fours, Elite Eights, NCAA Tournament Appearances, conference tournament championships, and conference regular season championships. John was also the athletic trainer for All-Americans as well as numerous student-athletes who achieved accolades for all conference, and all region athletically and academically.
 
Recognized by his peers, Zubal was presented in 2011 with the NATA 25 Year Award and in 2005 was selected for the NATA Athletic Trainer Service Award. John was a member of a conference Athletic Staff of the Year Award in 2007. In 2002, he was presented with a Professional Staff of the Year Award. In 2021, Zubal was recognized by Wesleyan for five years of service.  Zubal was a speaker at the 2019 WVATA Conference on the topic of student-athlete insurance. 
 
Zubal achieved his Masters of Science degree in athletic administration from the University of Utah. He achieved his Bachelors of Science in Athletic Training from the University of Pittsburgh.
