Tammie Hammon Moody graduated from the University of Charleston in West Virginia in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training/Sports Medicine. She was a collegiate athlete who participated in volleyball for four seasons. Tammie completed her Master’s degree at Marshall University in 1997. She was awarded the 2025 WVATA Athletic Trainer of the Year.
Tammie is a Clinical Instructor for the Athletic Training program and teaches classes in the Exercise Science Department. Tammie researched and developed a Women’s Wellness course that was added to the curriculum in 2006. She gained her Strength and Conditioning Specialist Certification through the NSCA in 2003. Tammie has also worked as a Certified Personal Trainer since 1995 and fits in a few clients when time allows. She also enjoys working with the geriatric population. She began senior aerobic fitness classes in 2000, in conjunction with the local Senior Center, to help increase and encourage physical activity among older adults. She also continued her education by taking courses toward a degree in elementary education.
Tammie is married to her husband, Kendell, and they have a 14-year-old daughter, Bailey.
