Tammie then advanced her career as an Athletic Trainer by developing a successful rehabilitation program at a Chiropractor’s office where she had previously interned as an undergraduate.  She then moved to Houston, Texas where she worked for an orthopedic surgeon for a short while.  Tammie then returned home to West Virginia and began her career in the educational setting.  She has been at West Virginia Wesleyan College since 2000 and is the interim head athletic trainer.  She covers six sports and is the Coordinator of Athletic Training Services.

She is a Clinical Instructor for the Athletic Training program and teaches classes in the Exercise Science Department.  Tammie researched and developed a Women’s Wellness course that was added to the curriculum in 2006.    She gained her Strength and Conditioning Specialist Certification through the NSCA in 2003.  Tammie also has worked as a Certified Personal Trainer since 1995 and fits in a few clients when time allows.  She also enjoys working with the geriatric population.  She began senior aerobic fitness classes back in 2000, in conjunction with the local community Senior Center to increase and encourage activity in older people.  She also continued her education by taking courses toward a degree in elementary education.
