West Virginia Wesleyan Volleyball picked up two MEC road wins this weekend. Wesleyan picked up a 3-0 on Friday evening against Uva-Wise and a 3-2 win on Saturday vs the Mountain Lions of Concord.
"The team did a great job this weekend playing power volleyball. We adjusted our lineup to get our toughest servers the opportunity to get in the game. As a team we served much tougher this weekend" stated Head Coach
Nancy Wheeler.
Wesleyan was able to pick up five aces in the match on Friday evening, and seven aces in Saturday's match.
Emily Doyle and
Ebonie Hicks had huge impacts in Saturday's game with 18 and 17 kills respectively.
Anaya Hyman and
Alexie Arnold led the team in kills on Friday with 12 a piece.
"This weekend we had everyone back from injuries, this allowed us to really play the type of volleyball we are capable of playing. Our wins this weekend capped off a sweep for the season against UVA Wise and Concord, " Coach Wheeler added.
Hannah Bradford led Wesleyan in digs for the weekend while
Mackenzie Wheeler led the team in assists in the two wins.
