Buckhannon, WV- Men's Basketball took on Virginia-Wise on Wednesday evening and picked up their second conference win of the season topping the Cavaliers 81-69. The Bobcats utilized a 34-19 run in the last eleven minutes of the game to top the visiting Cavaliers.
Wesleyan went into the half down by four, but came out in the second half and dropped 52 points to bring home the win. The Bobcats shot 50% from three in the second half which led to their success down the stretch.
The Bobcats tied up the game at 52 with 9:52 left in the game and the next five minutes were the most crucial for Wesleyan in sealing the victory. During that five minute stretch, the Bobcats scored 17 and held their opponents to 8. Wesleyan nailed three 3-pointers during that stretch.
Wesleyan had three players in double figures.
Fred Brondsted had 22 points including five 3-pointers and added in eight rebounds.
Dusan Vicentic added 16, while
Clay Todd scored 13 and dished out 5 assists.
