BUCKHANNON – West Virginia Wesleyan Softball team beat Glenville in both competitions Wednesday afternoon, 8-0 and 10-1.
In the first game,
Sara Scoone started off in the 3
rd inning with a double to left field, bringing home
Madison Casto,
Megan Magsamen, and
Kasey Robinson.
Lauryn King doubled to left field while Scoone scored. In the 4
th inning, Magsamen singled, advanced to second on the throw, while Robinson advanced to third and
Brittani Bible scored. Casto singled to right field while Magsamen and Robinson scored. King singled to center field and Casto scored the final run.
In the second game, King kicked things off in the 1
st inning with a double to center field allowing Casto to cross home plate.
Krista Waggoner homered to right field bringing in King to score.
Aylin Gutierrez homered to left field. In the 2
nd inning, King reached on an error by the shortstop, Scoone advanced to third, and Casto scored. Waggoner singled to the pitcher, King advanced to third, and Scoone scored. Gutierrez grounded out to second base, Waggoner advanced to third, and King scored.
Morgan Bruce singled to right field and Waggoner scored. Finishing up the game in the 4
th inning, Robinson doubled to right field, Bible advanced to third, and both Bruce and Waggoner scored.
The Bobcats increase their overall record to 29-10 and 20-4 in the MEC. The team will return to their home field on Saturday to face off against Charleston at 1pm and 3pm.
