Women's Soccer Routs Glenville State

Glenville- The Lady Bobcats picked up an impressive win on Wednesday evening. They traveled to Glenville State College and picked up a 9-0 victory. The win was their second conference win of the season.

Wesleyan got on the board early in the 4th minute with a goal from Natalie Prater. The goal was assisted by Shannon Shawgo. The Lady Cats played a 20 minute stretch without a score until Shannon Shawgo made the score 2-0 off a pass from MaKatlyn Tucker

This would not be the end to the Wesleyan scoring in the first half. MaKatlyn Tucker registered her second assist of the game when she facilitated Marissa Zetty who tacked on her first goal of the season in the 36th minute. Kayla Fay also scored her first goal of the season with an assist from Taylor Maucere. This put the Bobcats up 4-0 with just minutes remaining in the first half. In the 42nd minute, Casey Underwood finished off the first half scoring from Wesleyan with her second goal of the season. MaKatlyn Tucker would be credited with the assist on the play. 

It did not take long in the second half for Wesleyan to get on the board again. Marissa Zetty scored her second goal of the game with an assist from Natalie Prater in the 51st minute. This put the Lady Cats up 6-0. Twenty minutes would pass until Lauren Baumgartner would increase the lead again off a pass from Darcy Pope. Alison Crecelius and Taylor Rhodes finished off the scoring for Wesleyan in the game, scoring in the 76th and 86th minutes respectively. Chrystal Posada and Marissa Zetty would be credited with the assists on the those goals. 

Wesleyan would have an impressive eight different goal scorers in the game, with Marissa Zetty being the leader with two goals. All of the Wesleyan goals would be assisted, with three coming from MEC Offensive Player of the Week MaKatlyn Tucker. The Lady Cats would end up putting 29 shots on goal for the game. 

After improving to 2-0 in MEC play, Women's Soccer will be back in action Sunday as they travel to Beckley to take on WVU tech. The game is slated to start at 1 PM.
