Buckhannon- Women's Soccer was in action Sunday afternoon against the Wheeling Jesuit Cardinals. The Bobcats came into the game with six straight wins and an undefeated mark in MEC play. The Lady Cats would make it seven straight winning the contest 6-0.
It would not take long for Wesleyan to be on the attack. In the 2nd minute,
Natalie Prater fired a shot from 20-yards out that hit the post.
MaKatlyn Tucker would gather the rebound a get a shot off but it was saved by the Wheeling keeper.
Wesleyan would have many chances in the first half and would capitalize in he 29th minute when a great throw in from
Audrey Barber bounced around in the box and was cleaned up by
Carolyn Saulle for the goal.
Kayla Fay would get a foot on it for the assist. Bobcats up 1-0.
The Lady Bobcats would take the 1-0 lead into the half, with a 11-4 advantage in shots.
MaKatlyn Tucker gave Wesleyan their best chance to increase the lead in the second half when she cut around a defender and had a one on one with the keeper. The shot would go wide. With thirty minutes left in the contest, Wesleyan would still lead 1-0.
Wesleyan would increase the lead in the 64th minute when
Haelly Ramirez would score a header off of a
Natalie Prater corner kick. The Bobcats would lead at this point 2-0.
In the 66th minute, the Lady Bobcats would increase the lead to 3-0.
Natalie Prater would play in a cross that went over the keeper to the foot of
Carolyn Saulle for the goal. Wesleyan would lead 3-0.
Wesleyan would increase the lead again in the 78th minute when Jadyn Tavelkelian played a ball to
Audrey Barber who had a one on one with the keeper. Barber would place the ball past the keeper in the bottom right corner to make it 4-0.
Minutes later Wesleyan would score their fifth goal of the game when
Natalie Prater crossed in a ball to Madison Lapole who placed it past the keeper in the bottom left corner.
Danielle Jonas would finish out the scoring for the Lady Cats in the 87th minute to make it 6-0.
The Lady Cats are undefeated in MEC play, and held a 25-6 advantage in shots for the game.
Carolyn Saulle would be the game leader in goals with 2, and
Natalie Prater would be the game leader in assists with 3.
