Buckhannon, WV- West Virginia Wesleyan Men's Basketball was back in action on Wednesday evening against the Shepherd University Rams.
Midway through the first half, Wesleyan and Shepherd were going back and forth with Wesleyan going 6 for 10 on three point attempts.
Fred Brondsted hit two of those three pointers, along with tallying three assists and the Bobcats had a 22-20 lead with 10:14 to play in the half.
The Bobcats would cool down from beyond the arc going 1 for 9 to finish the half. Wesleyan would take a 37-34 lead into the half led by Brondsted with 10 points.
Wesleyan would maintain that lead until the 13:18 mark where the Rams would have a 49-45 lead. Over the next seven minutes, Wesleyan would go on a 20-5 run including three big shots from beyond the arc. Brondsted would be responsible for two of them.
Dusan Vicentic would hit back to back three pointers late in the second half to push the Bobcat lead to 16. Over the next three minutes, the Rams would score on four straight possessions to cut the lead to 7.
Wesleyan would go onto win 75-66. The Bobcats would pick up their fourth conference win of the year. With four players in double figures, Wesleyan would also hit 12 three pointers in the game, including four from
Fred Brondsted. Brondsted now has 52 made three pointers on the season.
Brondsted would have 18,
Daylin Lee and
Clay Todd would have 13, and
Dusan Vicentic would have 14 including 4 three pointers.
The Bobcats will be back in action on Saturday vs Glenville State College.
