Wise, VA- West Virginia Wesleyan Women's Basketball hit the road on Wednesday evening to take on the University of Virginia-Wise. Both teams were looking to rebound from a weekend loss.
Wesleyan started off strong taking a 19-16 lead after the first quarter. The Cavaliers would regain the lead in the second quarter taking a halftime two point halftime lead.
UVA-Wise started the third quarter on an 8-0 run, which led to them taking an ten point lead into the third quarter. Wesleyan shot just 16% from the field in the third quarter.
Wesleyan would go back and forth with the Cavaliers for the first portion of the fourth quarter, but the Cavaliers would close the game on a 15-4 run to clinch the victory.
Brittany Stawovy and
Abi Gabauer would lead the Bobcats with 10-points a piece in the game.
Wesleyan will be back in action this Saturday afternoon at home.
