Salem, WV -- On Tuesday night, West Virginia Wesleyan Volleyball had no troubles with Salem University, defeating the Tigers in three straight sets. The first set was a battle, with Wesleyan coming out on top 25-23. After that, the Lady Bobcats rolled past Salem in sets two and three, taking them both by a score of 25-17. Three Lady Bobcats tallied double-digit kills, and the defense allowed only a season-low 16 kills.
Wesleyan Volleyball moves to 5-11 on the season, and Salem remains defeated at 0-25.
Sophomore
Jayme Demoss had a season high 12 kills, and the other two Lady Bobcats with double-digit kills were Juniors
Lauryn Antolock and
Emily Doyle. Freshman Setter
Payton Hefner's 24 assists were her 4th most in a match this season. Defensively, Freshman
Abigail Anderson led the team with 14 digs, and
Lauryn Antolock had 3 blocks.
The Lady Bobcats are home this weekend, hosting conference foes Wheeling at 7pm on Friday, and West Liberty for a Saturday matinee at 1pm. Both of those matches will be played in Rockefeller Arena in Buckhannon.
Salem will look to notch their first win of the season on Thursday at Concord in Athens.
