BUCKHANNON, W.V. – Wesleyan's lacrosse team hosted Wheeling Jesuit on Sunday afternoon at Cebe Ross Field. The Lady Bobcats fell to the Cardinals 12-8. With this loss, Wesleyan drops to 5-4 overall and 0-2 in conference play.
The Lady Bobcats took an early lead, going up 2-0 within the first seven minutes. Wheeling answered thirty seconds later with a goal of their own, to make it 2-1. Wesleyan went on a 3-1 goal run to go up 5-2. The pace remained high as the teams went into half with a score of 6-6.

The Cardinals scored two goals early into the second half to take an 8-6 lead. Wesleyan battled back to knot it up at 8 apiece with eight minutes remaining in the game. The momentum shifted in the Cardinal's favor for the remainder of the game. They went on a 4-0 run to close things out with a final score of 12-8.
The Lady Bobcats got two goals apiece from Samantha Pappas, Madison Duvall, and Madeline Gorzka. Lindsay Penwell and Victoria Sisson each netted a goal for Wesleyan. Goalie, Gabrielle Cleaveland, came up with 8 saves on the day.
Next up on the schedule for the Lady Bobcats will be an away matchup against UVA Wise, March 29th at 3pm.
