Buckhannon, WV — The West Virginia Wesleyan women's tennis team captured a thrilling 4-3 win over Shaw University here Saturday afternoon.

Mariona Junyer rallied from 2-5 down in the final set to win her #3 singles match 6-3, 4-6, 7-6 (6) , snapping a streak of nine consecutive losses to the Bears.
Shaw is the defending champion in the CIAA conference, and went to the NCAA tournament last year.
Cecilia Martinez (pictured) and Julia Yanes also recorded singles points for the 'Cats, who took the early 1-0 lead by taking the doubles point. For the second straight match, Yanes clinched the win with a 6-2, 6-3 triumph at the four spot.
Wesleyan (11-8, 5-2 MEC) won for the 6th time in seven matches, now finishes the conference season with a trip to Concord on April 19th.
