Box Score 4 Buckhannon/Glenville, WV-- The West Virginia Wesleyan Bobcats come into this weekends match-up with a 16-30 record as the Bobcats look to end the season on a positive weekend.
Game 1: (Away Series)
On the mound for game 1 would be Junior pitcher
Kyle Kania looking to pick up his 5th win of the season and remain perfect on the year.
The Bobcats would start things off as
Greg Smith would lead off the game with a lead off single between third and shortstop and seconds later he would steal second base.
Antonio Vega would come up clutch with a two out single to left field which let the Bobcats get on top 1-0.
Glenville would answer with 2 runs themselves as a 2 run opposite field home run would give the Pioneers the lead going into the second inning.
In the second inning the Pioneers would have a couple base knocks to add one more to the total as they would be up on the Bobcats 3-1.
In the third inning the Pioneers would put up another run on another home run as the Bobcats are down 4-1 as they look to get something going.
The Pioneers would put up two more runs before the Bobcats had an answer. In the top of the 6th inning
Eric Forbrick would bring some life to the Bobcat dugout as he would Homer to center field to make it a 6-2 game.
In the bottom half of the inning, the Pioneers would continue to pile on runs as they put up two more to make it an 8-2 game going into the last inning as the Bobcats need a big inning.
In the top of the 7th inning the Bobcats would get something started as
Ryan Kiser would lead off the inning with a double to left field.
Tanner McCallister would reach on an error as the Bobcats have first and third with
Greg Smith up. Smith would also reach on an error bringing in Kiser to score to make it an 8-3 game.
Eric Forbrick would hit a sac fly to left field to bring in McCallister to make it an 8-4 game. Unfortunately that is where the game would end as the Bobcats come up short in game 1.
Game 2:
On the mound for game 2 would be Junior pitcher
Griffin Roe out of Stewart, Florida.
In the top of the second inning the Bobcats would draw the first run as
Ryan Kiser would hit a solo home run to right field, his first of his career to make it a 1-0 game.
In the third inning the Bobcats would tack on another run as
Jonathan Cintron would reach on an error and
Antonio Vega would score him on a double in the left center gap making the game 2-0.
The Pioneers would have a couple back to back hits as they would catch up to bring the game to an even 2-2 ball game.
In the top of the 5th inning,
Eric Forbrick would hit his 12th home run of the season and second of the weekend to put the Bobcats up by a score of 3-2.
In the top of the sixth inning
Todd Burner would double in the left center gap bringing
Ben Fulks around to score all the way from first base to make it a 4-2 game.
The very next inning
Greg Smith would start it off with an infield single later coming around to score on a sac fly from
Eric Forbrick as the score would be 5-2.
The Bobcats would hold them off as
Dominic Castello would come in and shut the door.
Game 3: (Home Series)
The Bobcats would come home for their final two games. On the mound for Game 3 of the series would be Freshman pitcher
Michael Maiolo out of Beckley, West Virginia.
The game would be quite until the top of the third as the Pioneers would put some hits together to make it a 1-0 game.
It wouldn't be until the bottom of the 5th that the Bobcats would score when
Nick Grotti would start it off with a single to right field.
Dominic Castello would move him over to second base to bring
Ryan Kiser to the plate. Kiser would single to right field as the Bobcats would tie it up at 1 a piece.
Glenville would answer the next half inning as they would string 3 hits together to put up 3 runs to make it a 4-1 game.
The Bobcats would have one more shot in the bottom of the seventh inning to catch the Pioneers as
Dominic Castello would lead it off with a single,
Ryan Kiser would continue to swing it well as he would double to left field as the Bobcats bring the tying run to the plate.
Todd Burner would roll one over to shortstop to make it a 4-2 game. The Bobcats would fail to score anymore runs as the Bobcats fall just short.
Game 4:
The last game of the year would be to honor the Seniors who are leaving

Hunter Rotarius
Ben Fulks
Travis Renner
Alex Skinner
Jonathan Cintron
Jake Bishop
After the nice ceremony for the players and families the last game of the year was ready to begin.
Hunter Rotarius, a Senior pitcher out of Apopka, FL would earn his last start ever as a Bobcat and look to end the season on a positive note.
Their would be no hits in the ball game until
Greg Smith would single to the shortstop in the hole as Smith would reach a career mark. Greg would then later steal second and read a dirt ball to get to third base with just one out.
Alex Skinner would ground out to the shortstop which would bring in Smith to score as the Bobcats take the 1-0 lead.
In the bottom of the 4th inning
Dominic Castello would lead things off with a single to left field.
Ryan Kiser would move Kiser over to second base bringing Travis Rnner to the plate. Renner would crush a high pitch into left field to score Castello. Renner would later on steal second base and come into score on
Ben Fulks' single to left field making it 3-1.
In the bottom of the 5th inning,
Greg Smith would get his curtain call as he salutes the crowd as they all applaud him for making it on the West Virginia Wesleyan College All-Time Career Hits List with 172 tying for 10th place.
In the bottom of the 6th inning most of the seniors would come off the field to get a last salute to thank them for all that they have done.
Hunter Rotarius gave up his first hit of the game in the 5th inning as he continued to shut down Glenville and only give up 3 hits the entire game as well as 9 strikeouts.
This concludes the West Virginia Wesleyan College Baseball season.
