Bar selected to represent Team USA at Pan American Maccabi Games

Buckhannon, WV. -- West Virginia Wesleyan's Orian Bar was selected to represent the United States of America in the 14th Pan America Maccabi Games in Mexico City, Mexico.

Maccabi USA will have over 400 American athletes represented at the games, joining the other 2,500 Jewish athletes from 19 countries, participating in 24 different sports.

Bar, a rising sophomore, has made an immediate impact on the Open Women's Soccer Team, playing all 90 minutes of each game at the center back position.

"Getting to represent Team USA in the Pan-American Maccabi Games is a one-of-a-kind experience," Said Bar. "It is such an honor being able to play for the country I love while making lifelong friendships with fellow Jewish athletes from around the world."

The United States is currently 3-0-1, boasting shutouts over Peru, Mexico, and Argentina. Heading into the medal round, USA will face Brazil on July 12th for a spot in the final.
