Recap
West Virginia Wesleyan Women's Basketball scored a season-high 84 points on Saturday, yet were still out-gunned by West Virginia State and Charity Shears. The sophomore guard for the Yellow Jackets poured in a Mountain East Conference record twelve three-pointers, and scored 38 points overall. There was little that the Lady Bobcats could do to stop Shears, she was was still drilling shots with multiple defenders draped on her. For Wesleyan, it could be argued that this one one of their top performances this year, albiet in a losing effort. Scoring 84 points on 40.0% shooting from behind the arc should win basketball games, but this was a tough night to play WVSU.
Abi Gabauer led the Lady Bobcats in scoring for the second time this week, putting in a career high 21 points. She combined with
Nicole Gilyard and
Brittany Stawovy for 58 of the 84 points on the night.Â
