Recap
The Lady Bobcats are certainly playing hard to try and end the streak, as they were leading Wheeling, or playing right with them, for a majority of Wednesday's contest. The finish ended up 77-64 in favor of the home Cardinals, but the final score is not indicative of how close the game was for the first thirty minutes. Wesleyan took a 36-30 lead into the half, and they were lead offensively early on, and again in the second half, by Freshman Guard
Courtney Wilfong. The Fairmont native scored twelve points in the first half, and followed that up with another nine in the second, and her twenty-one total points set a new career high. She did so on an efficient nine-of-twelve shooting night, and she also added four assists. Senior
Nicole Gilyard pitched in with sixteen points and eight rebounds of her own to help the cause. Neither team shot the ball well on Wednesday, but eventually, Wheeling's scoring combo of Lilly Ritz and Khira Burton was too much for the Lady 'Cats to handle.Â
