On Oct. 15, 2016, Bobcat defensive end Kevin Pharaon set the MEC single-game sack record in a victory against Urbana

West Virginia Wesleyan Athletics will be highlighting past moments and successes in the department with On This Day.

Bobcat defensive end Kevin Pharaon set the Mountain East Conference single-game sack record by recording 3.5 sacks in a close victory against Urbana on Oct. 15, 2016.

Pharaon's effort propelled the Bobcats to a 21-20 win over the Blue Knights. The Bobcats scored on a pass reception by wide receiver Derek Drapen from quarterback Ryan Deal with 16 seconds remaining in regulation. Tyler Fischer successfully made what would be the game-winning point on the PAT.

The performance by Pharaon was one of many highlights from his senior season. A native of Silver Spring, Md., Pharaon accumulated 10.5 sacks during the 2016 season. He received MEC First Team Defense honors and was named MEC Player of the Week on October 31, 2016.
