Softball Continues Strong Start in Florida

Lady 'Cats Win Three in First Two Days of Trip

Scores

Wesleyan 9-3 USciences
Wesleyan 4-2 Concordia (NY)
Wesleyan 6-5 Felician
Seton Hill 2-1 Wesleyan

Recap

Similar to the opening games at Glenville, Wesleyan Softball has another three-win weekend to open up their Spring Break Trip to Florida. The Lady 'Cats have defeated USciences, Concordia (NY), and Felician over the first two days of their seven day trip. Brooke Clark has been the star of the show on offense, going 9-16 with a home run and six runs scored over the first four games. She started rather slow last weekend, but the sophomore infielder has caught fire, and looks to be taking strides to improve upon her impressive freshman season from a year ago. She recorded three hits and homered along with her middle infield partner Alli Robinson against USciences. Robinson was a perfect 4-4 in that game, driving in three of the Lady 'Cats nine runs in the victory. Returning All-MEC Junior Kennedy Cowart also swung it well on Saturday, smashing five hits, two doubles, and driving in five runs across the two games.

Sunday's opening game against Felician went into extra innings, as the Lady 'Cats tied up the game in the top of the seventh on a base hit from Kylie Turner. Then it was again Brooke Clark and Alli Robinson who provided the winning hits in the top of the eighth, and Hannah Hudson shut the door on the Golden Falcons in the bottom of the inning to secure the win. Ciana Bowen has already picked up two wins in the circle against USciences and Felician.

What's Next

The Lady 'Cats still have ten games remaining on the trip, starting with Gannon and Mercyhurst on Monday afternoon.
