Recap
On the heels of a 14-2 run to open up the second half, Wesleyan took down Urbana in the Opening Round of the Mountain East Conference Basketball Tournament on Wednesday night. The Bobcats were lead offensively by
Daylin Lee, who scored 24 points on an efficient 9-13 night from the floor. He was aggressive early, scoring fourteen points in the first half, and picked up for teammates who were unexpectedly quiet early on.
Dusan Vicentic got more involved in the second half, overcoming a two-point first twenty minutes, to collect a double-double with fifteen points and eleven rebounds on the game. After the 14-2 run, the Bobcats were strongly in control of the game, as they pressured Urbana into many difficult shots, and ran their half-court offense well, consistently getting the ball into the paint through Lee and Vicentic.
Jaylin Reed again added strong energy on both ends of the floor off the bench, and
Luka Petrovic and
Clay Todd combined to dish out eleven assists. The 'Cats also did not allow an Urbana player to score over ten points.Â

What's Next
Wesleyan moves on in the MEC Tournament bracket to take on #2 Charleston on Friday at Noon. The Golden Eagles have won both prior meetings this season, and will provide a difficult matchup with their interior strength and perimeter shooting. However,
Daylin Lee has proven to be the x-factor for the Bobcats all season, and can provide a lethal third weapon along with Vicentic and Petrovic that makes Wesleyan a threat to make a deep run. This is especially true if they can continue the stifling defense from Wednesday night.
Urbana's season has ended on Wednesday night with the loss.Â
Around the Tourney
#8 Concord and #9 Notre Dame play Wednesday night for the right to take on #1 West Liberty on Friday. #4 WVSU versus #5 Wheeling, and #3 Fairmont State versus #6 Glenville State will be the other matchups on Friday.Â
