Buckhannon, WV -- Earlier this week, West Virginia Wesleyan Athletics released an updated brand portfolio for its visual identity. The updates include a return to the use of a Bobcat mark to identify WVWC Athletics, a modern addition to the history of popular Bobcat icons used during the 20th century. Accompanying the addition of the Spirit Mark, Athletics has incorporated the common usage of the acronym "WVWC" into its visual identity.

WVWC Athletics announced the updates on Monday with the release of a video that tributes the history of the program, and showcases the top moments from 2019-2020 as the Bobcats combine tradition and a new energy moving into 2020-2021 and beyond. The updated identity will be reflected on wesleyanbobcats.com, team apparel, the renovated court floor inside the Rockefeller Center, and on digital platforms in 2020-2021.
By Wesleyan, for Wesleyan
The story of West Virginia Wesleyan can only be told best by those who define it. This release marks the beginning of an effort to further engage student-athletes, fans, alumni, campus, and the local community with WVWC Athletics. In the spirit of this notion, the updated identity was created by members of the West Virginia Wesleyan family. Spirit Mark artwork was designed by alum Megan Hepburn '20, and the project was overseen by current Assistant Professor of Graphic Design Jon Benjamin.Â
Staff additions to Athletics Communications will be announced later next week.Â
