ELKINS, W.Va. --Â Jenny Lundy laced a season-high 12 kills as the West Virginia Wesleyan (3-22, 3-13) volleyball team dropped a road match to Davis & Elkins (14-13, 11-5) on Friday (Nov. 12) night at the McDonnell Center.

In addition to her 12 kills, Lundy racked up 13 digs, four assists and two block solos.
Payton Hefner (13) and
Maddi Carpenter (11) each logged double-digit assist totals.

Davis & Elkins Leaders
Three Senators eclipsed the double-digit kill mark: Maria Isabel Butruce Candiota (14), Gracjana Rozanska (12) and Brianna Portley (11). Setter Brilane Manchego passed 31 assists. Mariah Autobee had a match-high three service aces. Clara Caralt led the Senators with 13 digs. Manchego stuffed two block solos.

Inside Set One
The Senators scored five straight points to take an early 8-4 lead. A
Payton Hefner kill closed the margin to two points at 12-10. Davis & Elkins scored an 8-1 run to take a 20-11 lead. Lundy smashed a kill to put Wesleyan within five points at 23-18. D&E won the first act, 25-19.

Inside Set Two
D&E kept the momentum going and won the first four points of the second set. Wesleyan clawed back and claimed their first lead of the second set at 6-5. The home team won three points in a row to regain the lead. WVWC won four straight decisions to build a 10-8 lead, capped off by kills from
Lexis Tatum and Lundy. The Bobcats went on another 4-0 run to go up 15-11 in the middle of the second frame. D&E responded with a seven-point run to regain the lead, 18-15. A Senator attack error tied the set at 20 all. The Senators edged out Wesleyan after winning the final four points of the set and claimed set two, 25-21.

Inside Set Three
With the score knotted up at seven all, the Bobcats ignited a 4-0 scoring run to build an 11-7 lead. Wesleyan posted another 4-0 run to go up by six points. The Senators cut into the Bobcat lead and decreased the margin to three points at 17-14. Lundy's 10th kill of the night put the Bobcats up by five points, 20-15. D&E cut the lead to three points once again at 24-21. Hefner closed out the set with a kill and gave Wesleyan a 25-21 victory.

Inside Set Four
Kennedy Kuhns placed a service ace to give the 'Cats a 6-5 lead. D&E regained an 8-7 lead following a kill from Portley. The Bobcats jumped back in front 11-8 after a kill from
Joelle Lalla, who contributed nine kills in the match. Another kill from Lalla grew the WVWC lead to four points, 14-10. D&E stormed back and regained the lead at 15-14 thanks to an Autobee service ace. The Bobcats retook the lead, 18-16 after a kill from
Jayla Cowherd. The Senators score five straight points to build a three-point lead, 21-18. The Bobcats trailed by one point two separate times down the stretch. The home team prevailed and edged Wesleyan 25-23 in the final set.

Up Next
The Bobcats will conclude the season with a match versus Salem tomorrow (Nov. 13) morning at the Rockefeller Center. The Senior Day contest is slated for a 10 a.m. first serve.
