Wesleyan Fends Off Seton Hill for Sloan's First Victory as Head Coach

The Bobcats shot over 54 percent from the field and had five players score in double figures in Derek Sloan's first win as Wesleyan's head coach.

BUCKHANNON, W.Va. -- An all-around team effort led to head coach Derek Sloan's first career victory as West Virginia Wesleyan (1-2) men's basketball defeated Seton Hill (0-3), 85-79 on Monday (Nov. 15) inside the Rockefeller Center.

"The live action this past weekend really prepared the team for today," Sloan said. "We woke up excited and played hard. Our team wanted it and competed for a full 40 minutes. We composed ourselves and the big thing was making free throws as the clock started winding down."

Jayden Hibbitt led the Bobcats in scoring for the third consecutive game with 21 points while also pulling down eight rebounds. Joseph Keenan made five shots from beyond the arc to finish with 15 points.

Tommie Pope scored 11 points, ripped down six rebounds and distributed three assists. Braeden McGrew delivered 13 points and dished out three assists. Shawn Moran contributed 12 points including 10 in the second half.
