ATHENS, W.Va. -- The West Virginia Wesleyan (3-19, 3-10) volleyball team fell at Concord (7-15, 3-10) on Tuesday (Nov. 2) at the Carter Center.
 
WVWC Leaders
Lexis Tatum totaled eight kills. Payton Hefner passed 13 assists. Sarah McCall laced three service aces. Autumn Molenhouse accumulated 11 digs. Milan Reynolds rejected two block solos, while Anaya Hyman contributed two block assists.
 
Concord Leaders
Amber Hall was the only player to reach the double-digit kill total with 13 kills. Setter Kristin Lough tallied 22 assists. Imani Rodgers and Kaylee Spees each had four service aces. Kelli Ellison hauled in 27 digs. Sheridan Herron amassed four total blocks.
 
Inside Set One
The Mountain Lions won seven out of the first ten points of the match. The Bobcats closed the gap to one point after a block solo from Reynolds. Wesleyan tied the score at 10 after a CU attack error. Concord held a 14-13 lead when they won five consecutive points to go up 19-13. The Bobcats got the score within three points at 23-20. CU took the final two points and was victorious in set one, 25-20.
 
Inside Set Two
Concord jumped out to a 9-1 lead. Wesleyan responded with a 4-0 run, capped off by an ace from Molenhouse. The Mountain Lions increased their lead to 14-6 after taking five of the ensuing six points. CU controlled set two and won 25-12.
 
Inside Set Three
Consecutive service aces from McCall gave WVWC a 6-3 lead early. The Mountain Lions tied the score at 14. The Bobcats trailed by two points when they scored three points in a row to regain a 19-18 lead. A kill from Hyman put the Bobcats in front. Wesleyan extended their lead to three points at 23-20 after McCall's third service ace of the third set. 
 
Wesleyan led 24-21 but Concord roared back to tie the score at 24 to force a tiebreaker. The Bobcats held set point at 25-24 but CU responded. The Mountain Lions had an opportunity to close the match out seven times throughout the third set. The Bobcats answered every time to keep the match alive. On the eighth time the Mountain Lions held match point, Concord escaped and won the third set, 34-32.
