Wesleyan Falls at No. 10 Fairmont State

Anthony Craven Jr. led WVWC with 13 points off of the bench.

FAIRMONT, W.Va. – The West Virginia Wesleyan (1-4, 0-2) men's basketball team lost a road contest to No. 10 (NABC poll) Fairmont State (5-0, 2-0), 96-58 in the Mountain East Conference play on Tuesday (Nov. 23) inside Joe Retton Arena. 
 
Leaders for WVWC
Jayden Hibbitt scored 12 points and grabbed five rebounds. Anthony Craven Jr. delivered a game-high 13 points and snagged six boards. Braeden McGrew put together a balanced performance of 10 points, seven rebounds and four assists. 
 
Leaders for Fairmont State
Przemyslaw Golek scored a game-high 20 points with three steals. Isaiah Sanders dropped 18 points on 7-for-15 shooting. 

Inside the First Half
Fairmont State opened the first two minutes of the game on a 9-0 run. With 15:55 to play in the first half, Craven connected on a triple as WVWC trailed 12-7. A couple of minutes later, Moran drilled a 3-pointer to bring the Bobcats within five again (17-12). 

McGrew snuck in the lane with 9:18 left in the first half for a layup to cut the deficit to single digits again at 27-18. The Fighting Falcons responded with a prompt 7-0 run and controlled a 46-30 halftime lead.
 
Inside the Second Half
In his first start of the season, McGrew drained a trey within the first 30 seconds of the second half. Hibbitt hit a jumper in the lane with 17:16 to go in the second half as Wesleyan scored the first five points of the second half behind 46-35.

Fairmont State put the game out of reach with an 18-0 run over the next four minutes.
