Women's Volleyball WVWC Sports Information

Volleyball Preview: Glenville State, Davis & Elkins, and Salem

The Bobcats will conclude the regular season.

The Basics
The West Virginia Wesleyan volleyball team will play at Glenville State on Tuesday (Nov. 9) before wrapping up their Mountain East Conference slate with a road match versus Davis & Elkins on Friday (Nov. 12). Senior Day will be on Saturday (Nov. 13) morning at 10 a.m. in Buckhannon.

  • Wesleyan carries three seniors on its roster: Anaya Hyman, Maddi Carpenter and Kennedy Kuhns.
  • Hyman has connected on 88 kills and eight service aces in the fall 2021 season.
  • Carpenter passed 185 assists and hit 20 service aces this season.
  • Kuhns has racked up 15 service aces and 50 digs.
  • Lexis Tatum leads WVWC with 2.15 kills/set. Tatum posted a double-double in kills and digs versus Wheeling on Oct. 29. Tatum leads the Bobcats with 145.5 points.
  • Joelle Lalla's 0.97 blocks/set rank third out of all Mountain East Conference players. Lalla has 16 block solos and 54 block assists this fall.
  • Freshman Milan Reynolds has accumulated 10 block solos and 21 block assists.
  • Setter Payton Hefner has totaled 366 assists. Hefner has smashed 27 service aces.
  • Libero Autumn Molenhouse has picked up 219 digs this season.
 
Scouting Glenville State
The Pioneers are 2-18 overall. The Bobcats knocked off the Pioneers on Oct. 5 in four sets.
 
Skylar Mace holds a tie for the highest service ace/set mark in the MEC. Mace's 3.19 points/set is 10th in the conference. 
 
Kevin John begins his first season at the helm of Glenville State volleyball.
Scouting Davis & Elkins
D&E is 13-12 overall and 10-4 in MEC play. The Senators are in second place in the MEC South division.
 
Macie Magallon's 5.00 kills/set is at the top of the MEC leaderboard. Magallon's 5.50 points/set is the most out of any MEC player. Brilane Manchego has the third most assists/set in the MEC.
 
The Senators are led by Jordan Willis.
 
Scouting Salem
The Tigers are 3-22. Danielle Burns leads Salem with 125 kills. Setter Elise Burk has dished out 224 assists. Dayane Gomez-Salgado has snagged 271 digs.
 
The head coach of the Tigers is Ashley Ziegle.
