Acrobatics & Tumbling Preview: Davis & Elkins

The Bobcats return to competition in a road meet versus the Senators.

The Basics
The West Virginia Wesleyan acrobatics & tumbling team will compete against Davis & Elkins on Thursday (March 25) at 6 p.m. in Elkins, W.Va.
 
Quick Hits
  • WVWC fell by a score of 253.445 - 244.135 to West Liberty on March 8. Wesleyan enters this meet with a record of 0-2.
  • The Bobcats improved their scores in four of six events in their last meet against WLU. Wesleyan won the Acro event 27.80-27.10 that day. 
  • Junior Joniah Howell won the six element pass in the previous WVWC meet. Howell, a native of Waco, Texas, was named to the All-MEC First Team her freshman year in 2019.
  • Coach Alexa Johnson is in her second season at the helm of the WVWC acrobatics and tumbling team.
 
Scouting Davis & Elkins
The Senators hold an 0-2 record entering the meet against the Bobcats. Davis & Elkins dropped competitions against Glenville State (252.600 - 235.030) and West Liberty (255.720 - 244.355).
 
Senior tumbler Deanna Blood was named the National Collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling Association (NCATA) Specialist of the Week on March 4.
 
Mariah Ack begins her first season leading the Davis & Elkins A&T program. Ack previously was a graduate assistant coach at West Liberty.
