BUCKHANNON, W.Va. -- Kassidy Montondo has been tabbed as the next head coach of the West Virginia Wesleyan acrobatics & tumbling team, WVWC Athletic Director
Randy Tenney announced on Wednesday (July 27).
Â
Montondo, a former acrobatics & tumbling athlete at Davis & Elkins and assistant coach at West Liberty, takes over after Alexa Johnson resigned to pursue an opportunity outside of collegiate athletics.
Â
"We are excited about the potential Kassidy brings to the acrobatics & tumbling program," said Tenney. "She has the experience as a participant and coach and has the knowledge of the recruiting channels to grow our program."
Â
Most recently, Montondo completed a graduate assistantship at West Liberty where she assisted with the Hilltopper Acrobatics & Tumbling team while she worked on her master's degree in Clinical Psychology.
Â
"I have always wanted to go into a helping profession and my life has been centered in sports," said Montondo. "I am confident this position is the perfect combination of both those things. I am thrilled to get started with this team and continue what Courtney [Oates] created and Alexa [Johnson] built upon."
