Pinto Battles in Three Set Thriller Against Fairmont State

WVWC tennis falls 7-0 to Fairmont State on Sunday (April 11).

Box Score FAIRMONT, W.Va.-- The West Virginia Wesleyan women's tennis team was in action again on Sunday (April 11) against the Fairmont State Fighting Falcons. The Falcons came out on top, winning 7-0.
 
In doubles, Fairmont had the early advantage after gaining a default point at No.3.
 
Rebecca Osborne and Julia Pinto were paired together at No.1. The duo gave a valiant effort but eventually lost the match 6-3 to their opposition. Giving Fairmont the doubles point.
 
In singles, Julia pinto and Isadora Matos had a great match. The two battled it out at single No.2 and eventually went to a third set after Pinto won the second set 7-5 after dropping the first 6-2. The third set was filled with more excitement but Pinto couldn't edge out her counterpart dropping the set 6-4.
 
Fairmont State swept the rest of hte singles matches on the way to a 7-0 victory.
 
WVWC will be back in action on Friday (April 16) at home against the Davis & Elkins Senators.
