BUCKHANNON, W.Va. -- The West Virginia Wesleyan (5-23) baseball team led in both games, but Glenville State (16-17) escaped Hank Ellis Field victorious on Sunday (May 2).Â

Game One (Glenville State 6, WVWC 3)
Game one saw a total of four home runs, the first coming off of the bat of Fabian Escalante in the top of the second inning.Â

Tanner McCallister evened the score 1-1 on a single to center that scored
Andrew Walker in the bottom of the fourth.Â

Adrian Delgado and
Eric Forbrick both belted solo home runs to left in the bottom of the fifth inning as Wesleyan led 3-1.

Glenville State answered with three runs in the top of the sixth highlighted by a Tre'von Smith solo homer over the fence in right center.Â
Â
Mitchell Courtney went 5.0 innings and struck out three batters in a no-decision.
Nick Grotti, Delgado and Forbrick each recorded multi-hit games.Â

Game Two (Glenville State 9, WVWC 6)
The Pioneers controlled a 3-0 lead heading into the bottom of the fourth when
Sam Ross drove an RBI single to left center.Â

Bryson Fluke double in the bottom of the fifth put the Bobcats in front by a score of 4-3.Â

GSC tied it up, but a wild pitch and balk plated two more WVWC runs in the bottom of the sixth. The Bobcats took a 6-4 lead into the top of the seventh when an Escalante right field double knotted the score back up.Â

In extra innings, Glenville State scratched across three runs. The Pioneers kept Wesleyan off the board in the bottom of the eighth to finish the back-and-forth contest.Â
