Wesleyan Women’s Soccer Wins Second Consecutive Game, Tops Alderson Broadus on the Road

Scores from Paloma Zamora and Ava Badallo led WVWC to a 2-0 victory.

PHILIPPI, W.Va. – The West Virginia Wesleyan (3-7-1, 3-5-1) women's soccer team defeated Alderson Broaddus (0-7-3, 0-7-2) 2-0 at the Multi-Sport Performance Stadium on Wednesday (Oct. 5) evening in Philippi, W.Va.

The Bobcats jumped out to the lead when Paloma Zamora tapped a deflection into the back left corner of the net in the 33rd minute of the first half. Wesleyan outshot the Battlers 8-6 in the first half, with Zamora firing a pair of shots. The Bobcats held the lead after 45 minutes of play.

Zamora totaled another shot on goal early in the second half. AB goalkeeper Olivia Kqira made the save to keep the Bobcats' lead to one. An Alderson Broaddus yellow card led to a favorable set piece for WVWC, just outside the 18. Hannah Murphy stepped up and delivered a beautiful crossing pass to the foot of Ava Badallo. Badallo put the ball in the back of the net for her third goal of the season and gave the 'Cats a two-goal lead. Wesleyan secured a two-goal road victory.
