FROSTBRUG, Md. – The West Virginia Wesleyan (3-2) acrobatics & tumbling team collected a road conference victory over Frostburg State on Saturday (March 26) by a score of 257.410-255.890. Wesleyan knocked off Frostburg State, who was ranked 15th in the NCATA national preseason poll.

How It Happened
WVWC jumped out to an early 35.90-33.50 lead after winning the compulsory event. Wesleyan scored over a 9.00 in the acro heat, the pyramid heat and the toss heat.

In the 5 element event,
Kayla Gandy,
Emily Dengel and
Tiara Stokes posted a score of 8.75 to win the heat. Gandy, Stokes,
Joniah Howell and caller Caitlin Josef accumulated 9.55 points on the 6 element event. The 7 element team of
Sydney McKinnon, Alejandra Ditchen,
Kayla Wade,
Megan Miles and caller
RayAnn Nadolski closed the acro event by winning their heat by a score of 9.45-7.80. WVWC took the acro event 27.75-24.40.

Wesleyan won the synchronized pyramid heat 9.35-8.95. WVWC fell in the inversion and open heats. WVWC narrowly dropped the pyramid event 28.40-28.20. At the break, the road team led 91.85-86.30.

The 450 salto toss team of Ditchen, Miles, Wade, Stokes, McKinnon and Josef claimed a 9.40-8.95 win to begin the second half. The synchronized toss team won the second heat 8.80-8.70. WVWC won the toss event 27.10-26.95.

In the tumbling event, the quad pass team of Nadolski, Dengel, Howell and
Abigail Bowe won their event 7.650-7.500. Gandy performed a strong aerial pass routine that racked up 9.100 points. Frostburg State won the tumbling event 52.250-49.250.

Wesleyan completed the team event with a score of 89.21. Frostburg State followed up with a team event score of 90.39. WVWC came out on top and won the conference road meet.

West Virginia Wesleyan acrobatics & tumbling will host a NCATA Tri-Meet on Monday, April 4 in the Rockefeller Center at 6 p.m. The final home meet marks senior day for the acrobatics & tumbling program.
