BUCKHANNON, W.Va.-- WVWC tennis swept the Salem Tigers Friday (Mar. 4) afternoon. Both teams completed the season sweep of the Tigers, with the women winning 5-2 and the men winning 6-1.
In the women's match, the Bobcats clinched the doubles point with convincing 6-0 wins from the pairings of
Sai Sakamoto and
Cayley Symons and
Madison Chen and
Molly Hull. The women sealed the victory with singles wins from
Alanis Alvarez, Symons,
Rebecca Osborne, and Chen. The Tigers would claim singles wins at No.1 and 2 to round out the contest.
In the men's first matchup, the two teams had a tight contest, with the Bobcats taking an eventual 4-3 win. However, the Bobcats got off to a fast start in this contest claiming the doubles point by winning on all three courts. WVWC utilized that momentum the rest of the way, winning five out of the six singles matches and defeating the Tigers 6-1.

The Bobcats hit the road as they start their spring trip down south. WVWC tennis will play Barton College on Sunday (Mar. 6) for the first of four matches scheduled for their spring trip.
