BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – The West Virginia Wesleyan (2-1) acrobatics & tumbling team set a program record score during its home opener and defeated Alderson Broaddus (0-5) 260.015-146.675 on Sunday (March 6) evening inside the Rockefeller Center.

How It Happened
The Bobcats began the meet with a 37.05-28.80 win in the Compulsory event. The Pyramid Heat team scored a 9.80 out of 10 possible points. The Toss Heat team inked a score of 9.85.

In the Acro heat, the 5 Element team of
Kayla Gandy,
Emily Dengel and
Tiara Stokes posted a score of 9.75. The 6 Element team of Stokes,
Joniah Howell, Gandy and Caitlin Josef scored a 9.0 in the following event. The Bobcats were victorious in the Acro event 28.15-24.90.

All three pyramid event teams achieved scores over the nine-point mark. The Bobcats were ahead 94.10-80.50 at intermission.

The 450 Salto team of Alejandra Ditchen,
Megan Miles,
Kayla Wade, Stokes,
Sydney McKinnon and Josef earned a season-high score of 9.70 out of 9.90. Wesleyan won the Toss event 27.90-23.20.

In the Tumbling event, Gandy scored 9.375 in the Aerial Pass. Ditchen improved her open pass routine for a score of 8.80. The Bobcats won the Tumbling event 48.275-42.975.

The Bobcats concluded the meet with a Team Event performance of 89.74. The 'Cats improved their overall score by over fifteen points from their previous meet.
