Radosevic Blasts Third Homerun of the Season

Martin Radosevic hit a towering home run in the first inning of a doubleheader against the University of Charleston on Sunday (Apr. 10).

BUCKHANNON, W.Va.— Martin Radosevic blasted his third homer of the season for the West Virginia Wesleyan (1-24, 1-13 MEC) baseball team on Sunday (Apr. 10) against the University of Charleston Golden Eagles (21-8, 13-1 MEC). However, the Golden Eagles bested the Bobcats in both games of the doubleheader at Hank Ellis Field.

Game One
The Golden Eagles tagged the 'Cats for six runs to open the game. UC took advantage of a flurry of walks while only managing two base hits in the opening frame. Radosevic responded in the bottom half with a towering blast to right field for a two-run shot.  WVWC would score two more in the bottom of the third when Jack Tilton and Leo White would send RBI singles to centerfield to make it 7-4 UC. After UC would add two insurance runs, the Bobcats would load the bases in the bottom of the sixth. However, the 'Cats could not push any across to end the game in a 9-4 defeat.

Alec Tamburri relieved starting pitching Robbie Baker (0-1) and would provide the Orange and Black with a strong outing on the bump. The Lancaster, N.Y. native would punch out six Golden Eagles in 6.2 innings while only surrendering three runs on five hits.

Game Two
The Bobcats were held in check for most of game two as the Golden Eagle starter held the 'Cats without a hit until the bottom of the fifth inning when Hunter Eplin singled to left field to lead off the inning. Bobcat bats could only muster three hits off the Golden Eagle staff in a 15-0 loss.

Anthony Napoleon (0-5) got the nod in game two, throwing four complete innings on the bump.  Grant Swift threw 0.2 innings of scoreless relief and did not surrender a baserunner against the Golden Eagles.
