BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – The West Virginia Wesleyan (3-10, 0-7) lacrosse team fell to Frostburg State (8-6, 6-1) on Wednesday (April 27) afternoon at Ross Field.
 
WVWC Leaders
Emma Adcock scored three goals and Kaitlyn Canby put away her 17th goal of the season. Adcock collected four ground balls and caused one turnover. Canby and Isabella Verona both caused a turnover. Goalkeeper Maggie Wroe made 16 saves.
 
Frostburg State Leaders
Stephanie King and Julia Badolato were the leading scorers for Frostburg State, each scoring a hat trick. Lilly Stephens, Brittyn Leonard and Lindsay Kohlmann all dished out a pair of assists. Anna Kearney picked up three ground balls and caused two turnovers. Nicole Gray made four saves and was credited the win.
 
Inside the First Half
The visitors started out of the gate on a tear and scored the first nine goals of the game. Frostburg State outscored WVWC 9-0 in the first quarter. Adcock capitalized on a free position shot and put Wesleyan on the board with 12:05 in the second quarter. Frostburg State kept rolling and built a 13-1 lead after a half of play.
 
Inside the Second Half
Frostburg State added four goals in the third quarter to take a 16-point lead. Adcock scored her second goal of the afternoon to open up the final quarter of play. Canby scored with 5:09 left in the contest. Adcock completed the hat trick with an unassisted goal at the 2:53 mark of the fourth quarter. Frostburg State came out on top, 19-4.
