The Basics
The West Virginia Wesleyan Volleyball team will start Mountain East Conference play on Tuesday (Sept. 20) at home versus Charleston and will continue its MEC slate on Friday (Sept. 23) at Concord. Both matches are set to begin at 7 p.m.

Scouting Charleston
Charleston has won 13 of its first 15 matches. The Golden Eagles are coming off of two three set wins over Johnson C. Smith and Central State.
Setter Maria Hernandez is second in the MEC with 10.58 assists/set. Reagan McLean leads the conference with 1.38 blocks/set and has tallied nine block solos in 39 sets. Defensive specialist Erin Carmody has racked up 4.88 digs/set, ranking third in the MEC.
Tyler Kanelos is in his second season at the helm of UC volleyball. Kanelos led the Golden Eagles to a 22-11 record in his first year at Charleston.

Scouting Concord
Concord enters this week with a record of 6-9. Last time out, CU defeated WVU Tech in three sets. The Mountain Lions have been a tough opponent to play in Athens, posting a 4-2 record at home.
Setter Kenzee Chaffin has averaged 6.98 assists/set and has made 335 assists in 48 sets played. Gracie Brackney has totaled 22 service aces and ranks eighth in the MEC with 0.49 service aces/set. Hannah Steele leads CU with 159 kills.
Katie Dillon is in charge of Concord's volleyball program. Dillon has amassed an overall record of 157-256.
