The West Virginia Wesleyan Bobcats played the Golden Eagles of the University of Charleston at home in the Rockefeller Center. After coming off a loss to Fairmont State University, the bobcats were looking to pick up their second conference win of the season. The bobcats would lose the match 3-0 losing the first set 10-25, the second set 14-25, and losing sets 3, 22-25.
During the match, the Bobcats were lead offensively by freshman,
Emily Denison, who totaled 7 kills on the night.
Olivia Albrecht and
Bhrooke Axe each collected 6 kills each. Senior
Makenzie Yates totaled 26 assists. The bobcats would lose the first set as the Golden Eagles were lead by Emma Shepherd with 9 kills on the night as well as Sage Bearnson with 7 kills. The Bobcats fought till the end when coming back from a 18-24 deficit and making it 22-24. There were some key blocks by
Makenzie Yates and
Emily Denison late in the third set to in an effort to continue the set.
The Bobcats are set to take on the Salem University on the road Friday, October 27th at 7pm.
