Bobcats Fall to Wheeling University

The Bobcats men's basketball team lost a tight contest 102-92 to Wheeling University, Wednesday in Buckhannon.
 
In a game that, statistically, remained fairly even across most categories, the Bobcats could not gain more than a one-point advantage through the entire 40 minutes.
 
So much of the contest was back-and-forth with Wheeling maintaining the lead. Then, with 16:28 left in the second half, Wesleyan took a one-point advantage on a three-pointer by Joshua Johnson.
 
Field goals were close with Wheeling shooting 53 percent to Wesleyan's 55. Three-point percentage favored Wheeling, 37 percent to 35. Even free throws tracked closely: Wheeling dropped 79 percent to Wesleyan's 76 percent. Rebounds, however, were dominated by the Cardinals with a 37 to 21 advantage.
 
Five Bobcats scored in double digits. Alex Mirhosseini led the day with 22 points and six assists. Jalen Canada scored 18 points in the first half but was held in check in the second frame with just two. Curtis Litton dropped 16 points, Johnson had 11 points and Raphael Houssou scored 10.
 
The Bobcats host Salem University Wednesday, Dec. 6 at Rockefeller Center. The game starts at 7:30 p.m.
