GLENVILLE, W.Va. – The West Virginia Wesleyan Softball team lost 1-0 in eight innings against Seton Hill on Saturday afternoon in game one of the MEC/PSAC Challenge. Hannah Hudson struck out 14 batters in the loss.

Seton Hill was able to get a runner in scoring position in the bottom of the 1^st but Hannah Hudson got out of the early jam with a strikeout. Jenna Christopher got the first hit of the game for the Bobcats in the top of the 3^rd and stole second to get in scoring position. Christopher would be left stranded after Alyssa Rohr lined out to first.

Very little offense was seen for both sides until the bottom of the fifth where the Griffins got the bases loaded. Hannah Hudson got out of the jam once again with a strikeout. Wesleyan had a chance to take the lead going into the bottom of the seventh as Megan McMackin got herself to third with two outs. Taylor Swartz popped out to the second baseman to end the inning.

The Bobcats had runners on second and third in the top of the 8^th with one out but finished the inning with a strikeout and a lineout. SHU took advantage of this in the bottom of the 8^th, playing small ball and walking it off with a bunt to win.

Lauren Dellett picked up her second win of the season as she pitched eight innings and had nine strikeouts, one walk and four hits.

Jenna Christopher ended the day 2-3 at the plate and Hannah Hudson went 7.1 innings with 14 strikeouts and four hits. Hudson falls to 0-2 on the season.

Wesleyan (0-3) is back in action tomorrow in the MEC/PSAC Challenge against Slippery Rock at 10 a.m. and Clarion at 12:30 p.m.
