BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – The West Virginia Wesleyan Women's Lacrosse team fell to Quincy this morning 20-2 at Cebe Ross Field. The Hawks got 35 shots compared to Wesleyan's 15 and forced the Bobcats into 20 turnovers.
The Hawks struck first, scoring just a minute and a half into the game. Quincy would move fast in the 1
st Quarter, scoring goal after goal, including two in a 15 second span. After one quarter of play, Quincy led 8-0 after getting 19 shots off.
The Bobcats were only able to get six shots off once again as the Quincy defense was all over them in the 1
st Half. WVWC held QU to five shots but surrendered four goals, trailing 12-0 at halftime.
Wesleyan was held scoreless in the 3
rd Quarter, still struggling to get many shots. The Hawks put up another four goals in the quarter as their offense slowed down, only getting six shots. QU led 16-0 going into the final quarter.
The first goals of the game for Wesleyan came in the 4
th Quarter as
Yuka Mizuide and
Reese Hutson found the back of the net. Quincy scored four goals in the quarter for the third-straight quarter. The final quarter was the best quarter for the Bobcats with their two goals and five shots, tying the Hawks in shots for the quarter. As time expired, Quincy left with a 20-2 win.
The Hawks were led by Danielle Robinson's seven goals and two assists. In total, 10 different Hawks scored at least one goal. Madi Whiting Wagner had seven saves after coming in at the start of the 2
nd Half.
Yuka Mizuide and
Reese Hutson both scored for the Bobcats and they both led the team in shots with three each.
Gabriella Gomez had 10 saves on the day.

Wesleyan returns to action quickly as they are back at home tomorrow to begin MEC play against Notre Dame College, starting at 1 p.m.
