Men’s Tennis Picks Up Victory, Women’s Team Loses At Belmont Abbey

BELMONT, N.C. – The West Virginia Wesleyan Men's and Women's Tennis teams were in North Carolina today for a matchup with Belmont Abbey. The men's team picked up a huge win 4-3 and the women's team fell 5-2.

The Women
Omolade Aderemi and Cayley Symons led the way for the Bobcats by picking up both a doubles and singles win. Aderemi fought back after losing a tight first set to pick up the victory in a super tiebreak.  Symons fought through a tough first set before winning the match convincingly in the second.

The Men
Belmont Abbey took the lead after winning decisively at 1 and 3 doubles.  The Bobcats stormed back taking the first 3 singles within minutes of each other with wins from Camillo Salvi, Kevin Lin and Jonathan Lindstrand
 
The Bobcats struggled to keep the lead as Emanuel Mallya lost in straight sets and Kihiro Karasawa split sets at one singles. With the match on the line, Anthony McIntosh secured the win for the Bobcats, overcoming a second set 4-1 deficit to win in a tiebreak to seal the match.  
 
The Bobcats saw all their men in action as Luis Lenwerder picked up a quick win and Aden Pitts fought his way through a super tie break to also pick up a victory.
 
Up Next For The Bobcats
Wesleyan will be back in action tomorrow as they travel to Florence to take on Francis Marion.
