SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – The West Virginia Wesleyan Women's Lacrosse team lost to Notre Dame College 27-0 on the road this afternoon. The Falcons got off 47 total shots, including 37 shots on goal and turned the Bobcats over 20 times.
Notre Dame scored their first goal of the game at the 13:39 mark of the 1
st Quarter, a quarter where they would net nine more goals to take a 10-0 lead into the 2
nd. The Bobcats got a shot on goal in the 2
nd but a save stopped the goal opportunity. NDC put up six goals in the quarter, leading 16-0 at half.
The Falcons defense was strong all game, proving that in the 3
rd Quarter as the Bobcats were unable to get a shot off and were forced into five turnovers. Notre Dame made it 17-0 at the end of three quarters of play. Wesleyan had two shots on goal in the 4
th and held the Falcons to four goals in the quarter but Notre Dame left with a 27-0 victory.
13 different Falcons found the back of the net, led by Faith Flanagan's four goals. Megan Dano led the team in assists with five while also scoring twice. Annika Duncan saved all three shots on goal.
Makenzie Lewellyn and
Raveena Navalgund both had four draw controls and Lewellyn had two shots on goal.
Gabriella Gomez finished with 10 saves.
