Wesleyan Women’s Soccer Falls to Walsh, 3-0, in Home Opener

The Bobcats women's soccer team opened up its season on Cebe Ross Field with a shutout loss, 3-0, to Walsh University, Sunday afternoon.

Wesleyan found difficulty crossing midfield and into Walsh's half for much of the match, notching only two shots, both on goal, by midfielder Ava Badallo and forward Sydney Vilain.

The Walsh Cavaliers collected 17 shots (10 on goal) and went the total 90 minutes without a called foul.

Goals came by Katie Corrigan in the 15th minute, (assists by Taylor Tomlinson and Ashley Story), Emma Gecks in the 43rd minute (unassisted), and Ashley Story in the 76th minute (assist by Hannah Stein).

The Bobcats keepers shared 45 minute responsibilities with Williams, Alyssa posting 4 saves (2 GA) and Miller Paige recording three (1 GA).

The Bobcats will host California University of Pennsylvania Wednesday, Sept. 6. Scheduled time for kickoff is 4 p.m. on Cebe Ross Field.
