The University of Charleston Golden Eagles remained undefeated (10-0) and tops in the Mountain East Conference with a 69-21 road win over the Bobcats at Cebe Ross Field, Saturday.

Once again, Wesleyan's ground game suffered as
Kevin Mitchell,
Raphael Manning,
Deion King and
BJ Cook accounted for all of the Bobcats' 27 net yards.

On the other side of scrimmage, Charleston racked up 304 rushing yards, including 117 for the league's leader Chavon Wright.

In the air, the Bobcats faced injury on the field but managed 196 yards while using three quarterbacks:
Nathan Payne (8-of-17 for 145 yards and 2 TDs), Nickolas Shindler (1-of-2 for 36 yards) and
Chase Harsh (2-of-4 for 15 yards).

Top receiving yards for Wesleyan went to
Wesley Sweeney who caught two passes for 44 yards,
Immanuel Scott who caught two passes for 48 yards, and a 48-yard bomb at the end of the game that logged
Kevon Lawson's only catch of the day and it went for a touchdown.

Charleston was up 48-7 by halftime on touchdown runs by quarterback Ean Hamric (43 yards), running back Chavon Wright (3 yards and 1 yard) and three scoring pass completions from Hamric to Marquan Herron for 16 yards, 43 yards and 4 yards.

Wesleyan's first half score came from a 38-yard gallop to the end zone from Mitchell halfway through the second quarter.

The Bobcats' third touchdown was a Payne pass to King for 20 yards at 10:39 in the fourth quarter.

On Saturday, Nov. 16, in its final game of the season, Wesleyan will try for its first victory since beating Alderson Broaddus University back on October 22, 2022. Glenville brings its second-best MEC record (6-2) to Cebe Ross Field for a 1 p.m. kickoff.
