Wesleyan Women’s Soccer Shows Strong Defense in 1-0 Loss

The Bobcat women's soccer team ended its season in the first round of the conference tournament to the best Mountain East Conference team in the Northern Division, Frostburg State University, 1-0, Sunday in Frostburg.
 
It took the Bobcats of Frostburg 75 minutes and 15 shots to finally find the goal. Cassidy Paige used an assist by Morgan Mrizek to seal the match.
 
Wesleyan's Paige Miller served all 90 minutes in net and stopped three of Frostburg's attempts.
 
The Bobcats end the 2024 season with a 6-10-3 overall record and 4-8-3 in the conference. Maggie Queen was the team's scoring champion with five goals for 10 points which garnered her and defender Abby Fowler All-MEC Honorable Mentions.
 
Goalkeeper Paige Miller played in 12 games, had 38 saves and had a goals-against-average of 1.36. Paula Garcia played in 9 games, had 39 saves and had a goals-against-average of 2.25.
