Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Wesleyan Men’s Basketball Falls to Point Park 68-60

Wesleyan men's basketball woes continued in Pittsburgh, Wednesday, as the Point Park Pioneers topped the Bobcats 68-60.

Oddly, both teams shot exactly the same from the field, each hitting 21 out of 60 attempts for a 35 percent completion percentage. The scoring difference came from free throws and 3-pointers.

First half perimeter shooting for the Bobcats was at a minimum as the team tried just nine shots from beyond the stripe and made only one but in the second half, Wesleyan shot 67 percent from outside 22 feet and this helped them remain close to the final whistle.

Bobcat forward Stephen Ovia had a season high 18 points to lead Wesleyan and he added seven rebounds and two assists. Wesleyan points leader Alex Mirhosseini dropped a double-double with 12 points, 12 rebounds and six assists. Michael Batchelor went 4-of-11 for 11 points and Curtis Litton had 10 points on 4-of-11 shooting.

The high scorer for the game was Point Park's Kaden Warner who had 21 points on 7-of-13 field goals including 4-of-9 three-pointers and 3-of-4 free throws. Nathaniel Van added 11 points, seven rebounds and three assists.

The Bobcats (1-8, 0-5 MEC) return home to play Salem University Saturday, Dec. 4 at 4 p.m. in the Rockefeller Center.
